The upscale ethos in this town of 1.2 million makes for a great dining scene – you can tell which place is hot by the caliber of cars the valet leaves out front. Then there’s all that shopping. Oh, and some folks come for the history of JFK’s assassination (and memories of JR Ewing being shot). Visit for a couple days, but don’t try to scratch the surface too deep – you’ll come up empty. As a fantastic tourist and business destination due to its simple access from two airports and multiple highways, Dallas has attractions that provide plenty of things to do and see in the Southern city. A stroll through the city to the impressive Dallas Museum of Art or an afternoon at the Dallas Zoo will satisfy all ages. For a taste of classic Texas, a visit to the Mesquite Championship Rodeo is all it takes to experience true cowboys and hearty Texas food. Exciting amusement parks, specialized museums and seasonal rodeos all offer destinations to visitors and locals.
The Resume of Principal Susan Walker [09/2010]<p><img src="http://www.dallas.org/sites/default/files/walker-mug.jpg" align="right" hspace="8"> <p>Sometimes we wonder why we celebrate when DISD <a href="http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/dn/latestnews/stories/022509dneduurbanschools.f1d859.html" target="_blank">rises from being in the top 99% of its class to the top 90%</a> (translation: makes it from the bottom 1% to the bottom 10%). The Dallas Cowboys, Dallas' famous football team, plays at Texas Stadium just beyond the city limits in Irving.
The Dallas Mavericks, Dallas' professional basketball team, and the Dallas Stars professional hockey team play at the American Airlines Center, located in Northwest Dallas.
